Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy covers CinemaQuo DCP Studio, the CinemaQuo exporter for Adobe Premiere Pro, our licensing service and this website. It lists everything we collect. If something is not listed here, we do not collect it.
1. When you buy: Lemon Squeezy
Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for our sales. When you buy, Lemon Squeezy collects your name, e-mail address, billing address and payment details, under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your card details.
We can see your order and your e-mail address in our Lemon Squeezy account, and we use them to give support and to answer refund requests. Our licensing service does not copy your name or e-mail address; it keeps only Lemon Squeezy’s identifiers and status for your order, licence key and subscription (for example: active, refunded, cancelled).
2. When you activate a licence
Activation sends to our licensing service:
- your licence key and the product it is for;
- an installation fingerprint hash: a SHA-256 hash computed on your computer from three Windows identifiers (the Windows installation’s machine GUID, the machine’s security identifier, and the serial number of the system volume). Only the hash leaves your computer; the identifiers themselves are never sent.
Our service passes the licence key to Lemon Squeezy with a random name for the activation; the fingerprint hash is not sent to Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy records an activation instance for your licence, and our service stores its identifier next to the fingerprint hash and the activation date. The service also creates a random installation secret, which it keeps and sends back to your computer; the software uses it to prove that later requests come from the activated installation.
3. Each time an export starts
The licence is checked online every time an export starts. There is no offline period. The check sends:
- the licence key, the product and the activation instance identifier;
- the installation fingerprint hash;
- a one-time number issued by our service, and a proof computed with the installation secret;
- a hash of the export’s settings (project, picture geometry and output). It identifies the export so that one authorisation cannot be reused for another; it does not contain your media, and your settings cannot be read back from it.
Our service asks Lemon Squeezy whether the licence is still valid, and records when the authorisation was issued and when the export started. Your pictures, sound, subtitles and project files never leave your computer.
4. On your computer
- The three Windows identifiers and the installation secret are stored on your computer, encrypted with Windows Data Protection (DPAPI).
- CinemaQuo DCP Studio keeps job logs in the folder set in Options, and the result of its GPU self-check under
%PROGRAMDATA%\CinemaQuo\studio. These stay on your computer.
5. Why we use this data
- To deliver the licence you bought and keep it to one active computer at a time.
- To stop a refunded, revoked or expired licence from starting new exports.
- To recover an activation that was interrupted, and to give support.
We do not sell this data, use it for advertising or share it with anyone except Lemon Squeezy, which needs it to validate the licence.
6. How long we keep it
We keep only what is needed to link a licence to its installation, to finish or recover activations, to stay in step with Lemon Squeezy’s records, and to give support. Deactivating a computer ends its activation instance.
7. This website
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking, has no forms, and loads nothing from other websites. The store button takes you to Lemon Squeezy, whose own privacy policy applies there.
8. Your rights
You can ask what we hold about your licence, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deleting the licence records also ends the activation, so the software can no longer start exports with that licence. Write to our support address. Data held by Lemon Squeezy can also be requested from Lemon Squeezy.
9. Changes
If what the software collects changes, we will update this page before the change ships. The date at the top shows the current version.
